CBD is a non-psychoactive chemical compound — meaning it won’t alter a person’s mental state — that can come from two different cannabis plants: The hemp plant (with less than 0.3 percent THC present) or marijuana plant (where there’s much more psychoactive THC). OpenApothecary only uses industrial hemp derived CBD.

No, you will not feel “stoned”. Our joints have less than 0.3 percent Delta 9 THC, following FDA guidelines. The CBD oils have 0%  THC. Our CBD is derived from the hemp plant, which while part of the cannabis family, has no psychoactive effects.

You might not notice any changes right away, CBD has subtle effects. Be aware of your thoughts and feelings and keep track of how your mood changes the first few days and weeks of use. While scientific research is ongoing and new, initial CBD studies are looking into it’s potential anti-inflammatory and anti anxiety properties. They are also looking into effects on people who suffer from PTSD, addiction problems, epilepsy, seizures, chronic pain, anxiety and many more. Please ask your Doctor if CBD might be right for you.

OpenApothecary currently sells joints, oils and topicals.  Depending on your preference you can ingest orally, smoke or rub topically.  Most medical professionals suggest starting with a 5mgs dose. Check each product for specific dosage.

Most of our CBD oils have zero percent THC. The joints have less than 0.3 percent Delta 9 THC. The majority of drug tests are looking for THC, not CBD. However,  we recommend NO CBD or HEMP products be taken in any way if you are required to take a DRUG TEST of any kind. There are a variety of drug tests issued to test for different varieties of CBD and THC potency levels per gram. Though defined within the US Farmer act states that Hemp contains less than 1% Delta 9 Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and is U.S. legal when it contains .3% or less Delta 9 Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), we are not liable for any FAILED DRUG TEST. OpenApothecary and its affiliates are NOT responsible for any FALSE POSITIVE or POSITIVE drug tests.

At the end of 2018, US Congress passed the Farm Bill, a piece of legislation that among other things, legalized the cultivation, production, sale, and possession of hemp and hemp derived products at the federal level, as long as the CBD has a concentration of THC below 0.3%. On a state level, CBD products are legal in 47 states, as well as DC. The following states still have laws prohibiting the sale and use of CBD hemp products: Idaho, Nebraska and South Dakota. As CBD laws are constantly in flux, it is recommended that you review the current laws in your state regarding the sale or use of any CBD product.

We currently sell and ship our CBD products within most of the United States. Customers in Idaho, Nebraska and South Dakota may not order CBD products at this time, however all Magic Mama Co branded products are free of CBD and may be ordered in all 50 states.
